Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you care for at your day nursery in Antrim?
We provide childcare for children from 6 weeks up to 11 years old. Our services include a baby room (6 weeks-18 months), toddler room (18 months-3 years), preschool room (3-5 years), and an after school club and holiday club for children up to 11 years.
What is your educational approach for early years development?
We focus on play-based learning that encourages natural curiosity and development. Our qualified staff create engaging environments with plenty of sensory play opportunities, ensuring children develop essential skills while having fun in our home-from-home setting.
Do you offer funded childcare places?
Yes, we offer funded childcare for eligible families in Northern Ireland. We accept various funding schemes for preschool education. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and we'll guide you through the application process.
How do you handle the settling in period for new children?
We offer a gradual settling in period the week before your child's official start date. Sessions run from 9:30am to 11:30am on your chosen days, allowing your child to become familiar with our environment, long-tenured team, and routines at their own pace.
What are your nursery menus like and who provides the food?
We partner with Early Days Foods to provide nutritious, balanced meals. Our nursery menus include breakfast, morning toast, a hot lunch at midday, and an afternoon snack. We cater to all dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, halal and specific allergies.
How qualified is your nursery team?
Our family-run nursery is proud of our qualified staff who all hold at least Level 2 qualifications in childcare, with many having Level 3 or higher. Our long-tenured team includes staff with up to 20 years of service, and all team members are fully vetted and regularly trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding, and other essential areas.
What is your approach to school readiness for preschool children?
Our preschool room focuses specifically on school readiness through a balanced approach of structured activities and child-led play. We develop early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and independence to ensure a smooth transition to primary school.
How does your after school club operate?
Our after school club operates from a separate site at Parkhall Shopping Centre. We collect children from local schools and provide a safe, engaging environment with homework support, activities, and time with friends until pickup.
Do you have a waiting list and how early should I register?
Yes, we often maintain a waiting list for popular age groups. We recommend registering as early as possible, especially if you're pregnant and planning ahead. A £100 non-refundable deposit secures your place, which is then deducted from your first invoice.
What makes your nursery different from other childcare providers in Antrim?
As a family-run nursery with over 20 years of experience, we offer a genuine home-from-home environment. Our long-tenured team creates consistent, caring relationships with children and families. We're not just a day nursery - we're an extension of your family, providing the highest quality early years education and care.
